How to grow Lavenders

In the garden: Lavenders are hardy plants, and once established will thrive for many years. They like a sunny position, we recommend you allow between 9" - 2ft depending on variety. Lavenders also grow very well in containers and tubs.

Keep well watered for the first season whilst they are establishing their root system. These plants are very adaptable and can cope with most soil types. A spring feed of "Growmore" or similar is all they require. After flowering, lightly trim the plants to maintain a compact, bushy shape.

Do not allow lavenders to get too overgrown or you will struggle to make it shoot again from the hardy woody base.

Feeding: In the Spring feed with Growmore or our plant food. Again after flowering and the plant has been trimmed, or feed with a liquid feed such as phostrogen.
