Now in our 102nd year…

2012 Sees us releasing our new mail order catalogue in the first few weeks of January, giving our customers an insight into our range for the coming year, however our full range as always can be found online here.

So far this year seems to be free of the chaos caused by last years snow, however the high winds have kept David busy with repairs to the tunnels and a tree that narrowly missed the new house that has finally been built on the grounds here over the last year.

This year sees us trying to increase the nursery site with another growing tunnel, and a re-vamp of the nursery shop on site with some different plants being grown especially for it has taken place. Preparations are currently under way for this season’s plants, with some exciting new introductions and re-listings taking place including a completely new plant for 2012 Summerfield Jo (AP756) all these can be found in the new plants section on the website.

We have increased our mail order range once again with the introduction -thanks to our family connections- of Pelargonium’s/Geraniums. We have chosen a good selection of varieties that you are unlikely to see in a garden centre. Many are old varieties that have been kept in circulation by enthusiastic amateurs.

As in previous years we will be running our talks for local gardening societies on ‘Allwoods Past & Present’ this consists of about an hour long talk then a slide presentation followed by a propagation demonstration and cultural care. So if you are fairly local to us and you think your gardening society might be interested drop us a line.

Also keep your eyes peeled as we often have a couple of coach trips that incorporate a visit to our nursery site during the summer months, we will post an update online if/when we get dates. If this would be of interest to you then let us know and we can gauge interest to the operator.

Last year saw us launch this new look website which we hope you will agree is easy to navigate and order from, however we always value your comments and if you have any remarks to make or suggested improvements then please drop us an email emma@allwoods.net  or why not sign up for our occasional newsletters to give you handy spring planting and growing tips and up to date special offers throughout the year.

Happy browsing and good growing for the coming year !!

David, Emma, Edward, Daniel & everyone at Allwoods.
