PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS WEBSITE. All users of this site agree that access to and use of this site are subject to the following terms and conditions and other applicable law. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not use this site.
Allwoods have been growing and supplying plants for over a 100 years and we are dedicated in specialising good quality plants at affordable prices and we pride ourselves on our range and personal service. Mr David James is the proprietor.
The entire content included in this site, including but not limited to text, graphics or code is copyrighted, and is the property of Allwoods and cannot be used or reproduced in any form without our written permission. If you wish to use any pictures or text please contact us for availability and pricing. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
Making A Purchase: could not be easier. Just browse our store, add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order. You can order from us with complete security confidence, all orders are dealt with in the strictest manner and your card details are destroyed once your order has been processed and payment has been taken. We accept Visa / Mastercard / Switch / Maestro. If you prefer, you can order now and phone through your credit card number direct to our office on 020 8393 7616, Monday to Friday 9am to 4.30pm. We reserve the right to charge a 10% administration charge on cancelled orders this does not affect your statutory rights under the sale of goods act 1979 (as amended) or consumer protection (distance selling) regulations 2000. We can send our young plants to countries within the European Union, please note not all EU countries are covered due to the time in transit, which can affect our plants. Delivery can take upto 10 days to EU addresses. All orders must be paid for in full at the time of the order being placed/received by us. We will do our best to fulfil your order as requested and we only send young plants out when we are happy that they will thrive. If a variety is out of stock we may substitute with the nearest alternative variety rather than hold up your order, unless you state otherwise. If you state that substitutes are not acceptable we assume that you are prepared to wait until all are ready - if they are likely to cause a long delay we will send a credit note for the unavailable variety. We do not post plants out during November to beginning of February, due to cold weather unless asked to do so. Orders received during this time will be held until February or when suitable for the plants ordered. We reserve the right to amend prices due to circumstances beyond our control. FREE with every order we send out, a copy of our 16 page guide to help get you started and long term care. The placing of an order constitutes acceptance of our Terms of Business. All plants are covered by our 30 day Guarantee.
Shipping And Handling
We have devised our own packaging system which has enabled us to keep P&P costs to a minimum, however the following charges apply to your order for plants or cut flowers, which includes order processing, packaging, packing and posting.
FLOWERS BY POST.... Ordering Flowers, Terms & Delivery Service....
Orders must be received before 1pm Monday to Thursday for same day despatch. Orders received on Thursday after 1pm will be posted on Monday. We only post Monday to Thursdays, excluding Bank Holidays. Delivery requests for Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Monday dates will be posted on Thursdays but only if ordered before 1pm. Tuesday delivery requests will be posted on Mondays but if you choose standard delivery we cannot guarantee they will arrive overnight unless you choose the next day delivery service. In the unlikely event of any unavailability of colours we will substitute with the closest matching colour available. Due to the nature of the product colours and varieties may vary to those pictured. Please ensure you choose the correct delivery service, if you have not specified we will automatically send as Standard Delivery. Please Note: Flowers are only able to be sent to UK addresses. We can accept orders upto 12 months in advance.
Standard Delivery: All flowers are sent by Royal Mail, 1st Class packet post, usually 2 days prior to your preferred arrival date. Delivery dates are not guaranteed and if the item is lost/delayed you have to take the matter up with Royal Mail, Royal Mails complaint terms state that an item isn’t considered lost until after 19 postal days have passed from date of posting. We cannot replace the item immediately in the event of loss unless you have taken out our Track & Trace Service, see below. Standard Delivery does not guarantee arrival on your requested date. All flowers are priced with standard delivery. This service is non guaranteed. Delivery can take 2-3 days depending on location in the UK the flowers are being delivered to.
Track & Trace Service: For just £1.50 per item, this service enables us to track and trace your flowers, and in the
unfortunate event that Royal Mail loses/delays the item we can replace it. We can only compensate for loss or non delivery if no attempt at delivery has been made within 5 days of despatch. Trace & Trace does not guarantee arrival on specific dates. This is a signed for service.
Next Day Guaranteed: For only £4.95 your flowers are guaranteed to arrive on the day you have requested, can only be used for arrivals Tuesday to Friday (excluding bank holiday periods). This is a signed for service.
Due to the high costs involved we do not offer refunds. Our cut flowers can withstand being in the post for upto 7 days!
PLANTS Post & Packing Charges:
To UK addresses only £3.95.... however much you order!
Our standard delivery service means our plants are posted using Royal Mail as courier, items are sent 2nd class and can take up to 2-4 days to arrive when despatched. This is not an insured service and we can only guarantee your
delivery if you use our Express Service. If your item is urgent or you wish delivery to be on a particular day then you will need to select our Express service. If your item goes missing or is delayed you have to take the matter up with Royal Mail and claim from them. Royal Mail’s complaint terms state that an item isn’t considered lost until after 19 postal days have passed from date of posting.
Express Service (UK addresses only) is £8.50 - On receipt of your order we will endeavour to despatch your plants within 7 working days subject to availability - if we are unable to despatch within 7 working days we will write and confirm when despatch will be. This service insures your parcel against loss or non-delivery (we can only compensate for loss or non delivery if no attempt at delivery has been made within 5 days of despatch.) Delivery will take 2-4 days to arrive once despatched and a signature will be required on delivery.
To EU addresses £14.95 per order - Plants are posted on a Monday using Royal Mail as courier. We unfortunately cannot offer Express Service to EU addresses. Please note not all EU countries are covered due to the time in transit, which can affect our plants. Delivery can take upto 10 days.
Our plants can withstand being in the post for up to 15 days (depending on variety/time of year/care in transit)
Delivery Schedule for Plants:-
For our up-to-date delivery schedules we recommend you look at the 'Delivery Info' button located at the top of the page or on the menu on the left hand side as during our peak times our delivery schedules can alter.
If you have selected Standard Delivery P&P method then we aim to delivery within 28 days and in practice usually quicker than this, but please be aware that during our busiest months orders received during these busy months will probably take longer as we work on a strict rotation of first come, first served. Our busy months are: March, April, May, September, October.
If you have selected Express Delivery P&P method then you should receive some or all of your order within 7 working days (subject to plant availability). During our busy months this service can take upto 10 working days on receipt of your order.
Credit Card Security
You can order from us with complete security confidence, all orders are dealt with in the strictest manor and your card details are destroyed once your order has been processed and payment has been taken.
In the event that a Allwoods product is mistakenly listed at an incorrect price, Allwoods reserves the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for product listed at the incorrect price. Allwoods reserves the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, Allwoods shall issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the incorrect price.
We fully understand that we are sending living plants so there is always the possibility that something may go wrong along the way! Most other nurseries say that once they have delivered the plants to you they are your responsibility, but we offer a full 30 Day Guarantee. If, at any time during the first 30 days, you are unhappy for any reason then please send the plants back to us, preferably in a stout box. We will replace them or refund your money. Orders outside of the UK will receive a refund, not replacement plants.
If you do not return the plants to us then we cannot offer replacements/refunds.
We can only keep our standards high by investigating the cause of problems. We feel 30 days is a very fair guarantee period, so please do not return plants after that length of time or expect us to refund/replace them. If for any reason you are unable to return problem plants to us, we will not be able to replace them however we will record the information to monitor any problems a particular variety may have and to ensure our service remains oustanding.
Regretfully Allwoods does not pay the cost of the return postage. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Limitation of Liability
Allwoods shall not be liable for any special or consequential damages that result from the use of, or the inability to use, the materials on this site or the performance of the products, even if Allwoods has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Applicable law may not allow the limitation of exclusion of liability or incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. Returns Policy
If, at any time during the first 30 days, you are unhappy for any reason then please send the plants back to us, preferably in a stout box. We will replace them or refund your money.
