PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY. All users of this site agree that access to and use of this site are subject to the following terms and conditions and other applicable law. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not use this site.
Terms of Business / Delivery Advice
We can send our rooted cuttings/plug plants to select countries within the European Union, see postal charges for costs. All orders must be paid for in full at the time of the order being placed by cheque, postal order or credit/debit card. We do not acknowledge orders unless a stamped addressed envelope is enclosed. If there is a difference in the money between your order and the actual cost this will be noted on your delivery note and any refunds will be sent with the plants. We are unable to add any extra plants to existing orders - any additional plants must be treated as a new order and the relevant P&P charges apply. If you require some plants to go to a different address then this too must be treated as a separate order. If you require delivery to be split into two different times of the year this must be treated as two orders.
If a variety is out of stock we may substitute with the nearest alternative rather than hold up your order, unless you state otherwise on the Order Form. If you state that substitutes are not acceptable, we assume that you are prepared to wait until all are ready - if they are likely to cause a long delay, we will credit you for any that are not available.
Deliveries are normally within 28 days and in practice usually quicker than this, but please be aware that February to May are our busiest months and orders received during these months will probably take longer as we work on a strict rotation of first come, first served, for up-to-date delivery information check out our 'Delivery Times' page for guidance on delivery schedules. If you wish to cancel an order for whatever reason we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee of 10% of your order value. We do not post plants out during November to February, due to the cold weather, unless asked to do so. Orders received during this time will be held until March or when suitable for the plants ordered. We reserve the right to amend prices due to circumstances beyond our control. The placing of an order constitutes acceptance of these Terms of Business. All orders are supplied with a FREE copy of our 16 page booklet “Growing the Allwoods way”.
We fully understand that we are sending living plants so there is always the possibility that something may go wrong along the way! Most nurseries say that once they have
delivered the plants to you they are your responsibility, but we offer a full 30 Day Guarantee. If, at any time during the first 30 days, you are unhappy for any reason then simply return the items to us, ideally use the original packaging, if you are unable to use the original packaging then a stout box or padded envelope may work. If the item is not faulty or damaged it must be returned in its original packaging, we reserve the right to withhold a percentage of the refund value & will not refund the postage costs.
If you phone or email to tell us about a plant you are unhappy with, we will ask you to return it. If you do not return the plants to us that you are unhappy with, then we cannot replace or refund them.
We can only keep our standards high by investigating the cause of problems. On receipt of the returned items we will replace them or refund your money, orders outside of the UK will receive a refund, not replacement plants.
We feel 30 days is a very fair guarantee period, as once the items have left us we have no control over their care, so please do not return plants after that length of time or expect us to refund or replace them. If for any reason you are unable to return problem plants to us, we will not be able to replace them however we will record the information to monitor any problems a particular variety may have and to ensure our service remains outstanding.
Regretfully Allwoods (Hassocks) Ltd does not pay the cost of returning an item to us. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Post & Packing charges: We currently only post to United Kingdom (UK) addresses.
By devising our own packaging system we have been able to keep these costs to a minimum, however please add the following charges to your order, which includes order processing, packaging, packing and posting.
Post & Packing charges:
Standard 2nd Class Delivery £5.95 (UK addresses only). FREE when you spend over £60. On receipt of order we aim to post within 11-30 working days subject to delivery plant schedule. Standard 2nd Class is not insured or guaranteed. Items are sent 2nd class packet post, using Royal Mail as courier and can take 2-4 days to arrive, this service is not guaranteed or insured and in the event of loss or delay you have to take the matter up with Royal Mail directly. The plants are thoroughly checked and carefully packed before dispatch, however after a long journey some varieties can look tired or have yellow leaves, and will need to get back into the light to recover, once potted up and given time they should revive without any problems, for a speedier delivery service see below.
1st Class, insured delivery £7.95 (UK addresses only) On receipt of order we aim to post within 11-30 working days subject to delivery schedule opposite. 1st Class Insured delivery items are sent 1st Class packet post with Royal Mail as courier and can take 1-3 days to arrive, they are sent signed for so a signature is required. In the event you are out on day of attempted delivery the item will be taken back to your local Royal Mail sorting office and you will have to arrange for it to be re-delivered/collected. We cannot be held responsible if you are not in and the order is delayed.
Super Express Delivery £14.95 (UK addresses only) On receipt of order we aim to post within 2-10 working days subject to plant availability. This is our super speedy, insured delivery service. We aim to post your order within 2 to 10 working days, items will be sent 1st Class packet post and sent through Royal Mail, the parcel will be sent signed for so a signature will be required. If you wish to select Super Express Delivery and a particular delivery day/month in advance we will hold your order until your selected day/month and then at the correct time your order gets priority in the packing department - if we are unable to dispatch within 10 working days we will ring or write and confirm when dispatch will be. This service guarantees your parcels arrival, delivery can take 1-3 days to arrive once posted and a signature will be required on delivery. In the event you are out on day of attempted delivery the item will be taken back to your local Royal Mail sorting office and you will have to arrange with them to get it re-delivered or collected. We cannot be held responsible if you are not in and the order is delayed.

In the event that a Allwoods (Hassocks) Ltd product is mistakenly listed at an incorrect price, Allwoods (Hassocks) Ltd reserves the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for product listed at the incorrect price. Allwoods (Hassocks) Ltd reserves the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, Allwoods (Hassocks) Ltd shall issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the incorrect price.
These terms and conditions are applicable to you upon your accessing the site and/or completing the registration or shopping process. These terms and conditions, or any part of them, may be terminated by Allwoods (Hassocks) Ltd without notice at any time, for any reason. The provisions relating to Copyrights, Trademark, Disclaimer, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification and Miscellaneous, shall survive any termination.

Couriers: as well as your name and address, your phone number may be printed on the parcel label so that you can be contacted should there be any problems with the delivery of your order and to ensure that your goods get to you as quickly as possible
Analytical software: we use Google Analytics to collect non-personal, aggregate data about visitors to our website (such as web browser information, screen resolutions and so on) which helps us make improvements
How do we protect visitor information?
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. When you place orders or access your personal information, we offer the use of a secure server. While we use industry-standard precautions to safeguard your personal information, we cannot guarantee complete security. 100% complete security does not presently exist anywhere online or offline.
Do we use "cookies"?
We may contract with third-party service providers to assist us in better understanding our site visitors. These service providers are not permitted to use the information collected on our behalf except to help us conduct and improve our business.

If you are not logged into these services then they will not know who you are but are likely to gather anonymous usage information such as the number of times a visitor has viewed a video. We occasionally pass your name & address to carefully selected reputable organisations and we work with Epsilon Abacus (registered as Epsilon International UK Ltd), a company that manages the Abacus Alliance on behalf of UK retailers The participating retailers are active in the clothing, collectibles, food and wine, gardening, gadgets and entertainment, health & beauty, household goods and home interiors categories. They share information on what their customers buy. Epsilon Abacus analyses this pooled information to help the retailers understand consumers wider buying patterns. From this information retailers can tailor their communications, sending people suitable offers that should be of interest to them, based on what they like to buy. unless you tell us otherwise, except as described below. The term "outside parties" does not include Allwoods (Hassocks) Ltd. It also does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others' rights, property, or safety. As a retailer, we are fortunate to have loyal customers who purchase our products over many years. To serve our customers in the best possible manner and to continue to inform them about new products and services we have decided to retain customer data for 20 years after the last purchase date.

Please note that we may maintain information about an individual sales transaction in order to service that transaction and for record keeping. MPS is a free service set up in 1983 and funded by the direct mail industry to enable consumers to have their names and home addresses in the UK removed from lists used by the industry.
