This is the section Allwoods are most famous for - our vast range of Garden Pinks!! We have been growing, breeding and supplying these plants since we started back in 1910. Our range consists of over 500 different varieties and is probably one of the most extensive collections available in the world that can be bought! We have many popular types like Doris and Mrs Sinkins alongside more unique and unusual like Dainty Dame & Kesteven Kirkstead. Garden Pinks make perfect plants for a sunny position, producing scented flowers throughout the summer and can even be grown as a cut flower. For the Ameater growers there are many varieties here that have won awards on the show benches and in a huge range of styles, sizes and colours. They can tolerate hot, dry spells and the coldest of winters - though they are not too keen on getting over watered!! But you will can be rewarded with a easy to grow, quick to flower plant that doesn't take up too much time or maintenance.

To help you decide where to start looking, here is a quick run-down on what's in which category...

Our Heritage range houses some of our oldest types, from species varieties to those found in the Tudor dynasty, the ever popular Mrs Sinkins is found here!
Long Flowering pinks consists of the more modern breeding, from early 1900s to present day - these are the repeat flowering varieties, with good hardiness and clove scent. They were originally designated by the RHS Scientific Committee as Allwoodii Pinks, created originally by our founder Montagu Allwood who crossed old fashioned pinks with perpetual flowering carnations, and still holds sway in all modern breeding work today.
Laced / Fancy pinks are the garden pinks with such beautiful markings and patterns on, they are of mixed ages, but if you want something really pretty look here!
Alpine pinks - are the miniature / dwarf types with flowering heights from 2-8", they are perfect for ground cover, sink gardens as they flower all summer long in compact clumps.
Or if you are wanting to buy in bulk, or not sure what you would like and are happy to leave the choosing to us then our Garden Pinks Starter Packs are the perfect starting point.

If you are looking for a variety that is not listed on our website then please don't hesitate to contact us as we may have it here on the nursery but not in sufficient supply to list as yet.
