Sunshine and Birdsong....

WOW half way through the year and what a start to the month, a lovely long bank holiday weekend full of celebrations and fun, I had a lovely start to the festivities by taking a trip into London to watch first hand the flyby and soak up the atmosphere and what a fantastic spot picked on the edge of Trafalgar Square where I managed to capture some stunning photos, it really was a beautiful fun filled day and made a change from being on the nursery.

On the nursery

The "Friends of Allwoods" have been super busy this long weekend, giving up their free time over two days to come weed, clear, strim, tidy and pot up plants. Our spring clean (but in the summer time) was much needed as the whole nursery had been somewhat neglected these last two years what with Covid and all the restrictions so it was a fun few days with our team of volunteers and although there is still much more to do we made a good dent in the clean up and I can't thank you enough for all the hard work and help you freely give. If you wish to volunteer and help at Allwoods simply contact emma@allwoods.net

Here are some before and after shots....

We have a new resident in the greenhouse, this ever watchful Robin is keeping an eye on us as we walk round and work, but doesn't seem to mind our constant presence and seems quite content with her nest of eggs hidden in between the plants - see if you can spot her! Looking forward to seeing the chicks soon.

Any visitors to the site may have noticed the new garden centre that is now fully open on the nursery, however we would like to inform all our readers that Garden Thyme is wrongly using the word "Allwoods" in their signage, Allwoods and Garden Thyme are two very separate companies that happen to share the same site, we mention this as it is causing some confusion to customers and visitors and we are trying to work with Garden Thyme in getting this rectified and asking them to stop using our name.

Dates for the diary

Upcoming events we will once again be at Sandringham Flower Show where we plan to have a selection of our range of plants for sale. The show takes place on Wednesday 27th July 2022 in the grounds of Sandringham Estate, so if you are in the area it is well worth a visit. https://www.sandringhamflowershow.org.uk/

Special Offer

After a busy spring we are now starting to wind down our mail order for the summer season, but we still have a few plants on offer if you are needing something to fill a gap or add a touch of colour. For something nicely scented and colourful then our Rainbow Loveliness is a must - the scent from these is amazing or why not try our long flowering garden pinks. For the alpine garden we have the beautiful carpet forming Deltoides to add a mass of colour. Check out our end of season sale and grab yourself a bargain and why not make the savings even sweeter with 20% off this week only when you spend £30 or more, to claim use JUBILEE in the coupon box during checkout on our website. Offer valid 5th June to 12th June 2022 and on items in the "June Special Offers" range only.

Thanks for reading and Happy Growing

From

Emma and the rest of the Allwoods team
